My brother Serge needs your prayers.:iconmv1plz::iconmv2plz::iconmv3plz::iconmv4plz::iconmv5plz::iconmv6plz::iconmv7plz:
Many of you have met my brother Serge because of the ALS contest. Since then some of you have noted me to ask how Serge is doing.
Today I am writing this journal for a different reason. Serge is rejecting the liver he received 8 years ago. This has happened once before. Through the efforts from the transplant team doctors and every one caring for Serge they were able to reverse the rejection then.
Because Serge also suffers from ALS (AKA Lou Gerhig's) disease now, I am assuming that it could be a bit more complicated this time around. Serge is a fighter and with the help of his doctors and care givers and the support and prayers from family and friends including you here on DA, I am very hopeful that he will soon recover from this set-back.
Please pray for Serge. He will be going in the hospital on Friday for biopsy and
Update on Serge and appreciation features.
First of all, let me say that is has been one week since Serge was hospitalized for his biopsy. Since then he received 3 intravenous treatments. He is now on anti-rejection drug therapy including the ones he takes regularly and some additional ones. He will be taking a combination of these medications for several weeks. He is home now, and will only be going back to Vancouver for check ups until he is fully recovered from the rejection issue.
I am happy to report that there is significant improvement with the latest tests. Serge went back to Vancouver yesterday and the transplant team doctors are very pleased with his progress so far. He is on his way to recovery. Still there is going to be some time before he is at that same spot where he was before the acute rejection, but the good news is that it is not chronic rejection.
I don't mind the comments at all Audra; it's all the 'thank you' replies to favs, llamas, and watches that had me ready to shoot myself. lol I find they are just getting to be too overwhelming, also sounding like a broken record in repetition. But commenting my work, or vice versa, I am perfectly good with as usually there is something new to be said, you know? However, don't feel compelled to reply back just because I may comment one of your pics; really Audra, do things as you 'feel' it - 'when' you feel 'like' it. I am perfectly okay with that. (especially given I am a faving nut, and tend to comment often! - I've given more comments than I have page views, if that tells you anything!! )
So yeah....just 'live', and enjoy! I won't forget about you!!
